Demolition of Bow Valley Hospital, Calgary, AB
Located in close proximity of Calgary’s city centre, McColman & Sons Demolition removed the hazardous goods by stripping the entire hospital down to its steel and concrete structure. Nine of the fourteen buildings were selectively prepared for placing 1,800 kg’s. of explosives.
Sunday Oct. 4th 1998 the buildings were imploded leaving an astronomical mountain of debris to be removed. Approximately 7,000 loads of debris were removed from the site. The successful demolition was the result of the co-operation and thousands of hours of co-ordinated effort from all involved.
